My Guiding Principle

“Always learning, always growing,
helping others do the same”

Bio

Hello, nice to meet you! I am an instructional designer and learning professional who plans to never stop learning! I love instructional design because it is the perfect combination of systems thinking and creativity. I have a passion for lifelong learning and gain great satisfaction in creating learning experiences that help others on their journey.

I have experience creating eLearnings, job aids, work instructions, tutorial videos, activities for sales training, and curating online material to supplement training. I also have experience on the facilitation side of training. For 7 years I was the primary trainer for new route sales representatives at Schwan’s Home Service, conducting a 4 week on the job training program with the reps that started with observation, gradually increased practice with feedback and ended with them running the route as independently as possible for 1 week. I also have experience facilitating sales team training huddles, K-8 classroom teaching (music), and facilitating professional development virtual sessions with Detroit ATD (Association for Talent Development). My goal is to focus my career on instructional design with companies or organizations that make it a priority to develop their members and employees.

My formal credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from Hope College, and the APTD (Associate Professional in Talent Development) certification from ATD. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Walden University. Volunteering actively with ATD Detroit and Delta Omicron Music Fraternity has developed my leadership skills and allowed me to build a strong support community, personally and professionally. I live in Port Huron, Michigan, and when I’m not working, I love to get outside for a run, perform in musical theater, read, work on puzzles with my family and plan fun activities for young children in my church community.
