Websites for Professional Development

This page was developed for the course “Legal, Social, and Ethical Considerations in Instructional Design”. It includes:

  • A Workforce Development lesson plan on the “SALE model” for job seeking adults
  • A blog post “Building empathy through Accessibility Simulators”
  • Open-Source and Free Media Resource page for Instructional Designers with links to 12 sites for free images, videos, animations, and music/audio.

Are you an expert in your field that’s been asked to train?  Did you get promoted into a training position? Are you being asked to develop learning materials and need some resources?   Have you found that training and teaching others is your passion, and you want to do that full time?

Whether you fell into training accidentally, or it something you are intentionally pursuing, this list has been carefully curated to provide you with some technology-based resources to get started.  You will find tools and links to resources that can be used to develop learning materials, facilitate communication and collaboration during your sessions, help transform facts and information into engaging learning experiences, and create effective practice experiences for your learners.
